Foster Application

Thank you for your interest in fostering with Simba’s Paw Dog Rescue! We are always looking to add long-term committed fosters as we do not have a facility and are 100% foster based. If we place a dog with you then you must be committed to fostering until the dog is adopted. We cannot guarantee that each dog will be dog, cat or kid friendly so you must be willing to separate your foster dog and be patient with slow intros, etc. We will cover all medical expenses and supplies needed for your foster dog.

Before you start:
  • You must be 21+ and reside within our foster service area.
  • Fosters are responsible for daily care and transportation to vet visits.
  • Our team will review your application and contact you within 3–5 business days.

    Foster Agreement Terms

This dog will reside in my home as a foster pet. I will provide it with quality dog food, fresh water, indoor shelter, love, and affection. I agree to give SPDR a copy of my license. I agree to provide the authorized SPDR representative access to all parts of my home and property for inspection before and during the foster period (with prior notice). I agree to provide my foster animal with proper and routine veterinary care arranged by SPDR as needed and to keep the foster animal on any prescribed medications. I understand I am responsible for all proper care (food, toys, shelter) unless other arrangements are made with SPDR. I understand SPDR provides no guarantee to the health of my foster animal and it may have medical, socialization, or housebreaking needs. I will not arrange or pay for elective veterinary procedures without SPDR’s written consent. My foster dog will wear a collar and up-to-date tag at all times. I will never take my foster dog to a dog park and will not allow off-leash introductions with other dogs. I will never leave my foster dog unattended in a backyard or vehicle. I will never leave my foster dog unattended with children and will not allow anyone to place their face close to the dog’s face. I will not remove food, toys, or bones from the dog while it is eating or chewing. Dogs need personal space. I will separate animals during feeding and when giving high-value items. I will continue crate training with patience and will not force or shove the dog into a crate. I will not crawl into the dog’s crate, allow children in the crate, or tease the dog while crated. I will contact SPDR immediately if my foster dog escapes or is lost. If I can no longer keep the foster dog, I will contact SPDR and return the dog. I will not give away, sell, or surrender the dog elsewhere. I agree to give SPDR 30 days’ notice if I can no longer foster. Failure to do so may make me liable for boarding costs. I understand SPDR retains ownership of all foster animals and may reclaim the dog at any time. I will send weekly updates, photos, and videos to SPDR to help with adoption. I will practice slow introductions with other pets and children, understanding decompression can take 2–6 weeks. I acknowledge the foster dog may have unknown behaviors due to past trauma or neglect and accept responsibility for managing the dog safely. I will not hold SPDR, its agents, or volunteers liable for any damages related to fostering. Any abuse or violation will result in immediate termination of foster care and SPDR reclaiming the animal.
